Introduction
The Division of Psychology and Child Care is a multi-faceted department that integrates the psychological and child study approaches to human understanding required in today's complex, pluralistic society. Through psychological human understanding, it is possible to cure the agony of the modern society and the self, and it enables happiness and self-discovery in the modern family through the approach of child studies. The Division of Psychology and Child Care is currently engaged in the development of an emergency care group to solve our society’s problem of low birthrate and an aging society. Also, our department has the advantage of systematizing care within the framework of 'communication, care and solidarity' for which the 21st century is aiming at globally. In addition, students can obtain national certificates such as clinical psychologist and child care teacher through the undergraduate curriculum.

Clinical psychology major goals
Clinical Psychology is an applied field of psychology. In this major, it is necessary to establish a basic knowledge of psychology and psychological problems where psychological interventions are needed. The purpose of education is to cultivate practical knowledge and skills that can provide evaluation and treatment services of psychological problems. The concrete academic goals for this are as follows.
- Have a sense of professionalism to see the well-being and welfare of others as a top priority.
- Study and work on your own maturity to become a professional.
- Respect the autonomy and human rights of others and acquire practical knowledge and skills for diagnosis and therapeutic intervention of psychological problems with a mature attitude through others.
- Acquire a researcher’s attitude by understanding psychology as science to explore human behavior and therapeutic mechanisms.
- Cultivate qualities as a clinical and counseling specialist that can contribute to human growth and healthy social development by more effectively solving various psychological difficulties or problems facing human beings in life.
Child care major goals
The purpose of the child care education is to cultivate the ability to provide high quality education and childcare for children, who are the future of our society, on the basis of child education and pedagogy to raise academic knowledge and practical skills to meet social demands. We aim at educating child care teachers as citizens to take charge of social child care. The student will be equipped with the qualities of Care and Education specialists with positive thinking and harmonious interpersonal skills so that the child's healthy growth and development, as well as the potential of the childcare teacher, can be enhanced. The specific academic goals are as follows.
- Develop a child-friendly attitude that takes the child's human rights first, such as helping children grow upright and viewing them as an individual.
- Explore social phenomena related to children and humanity from various angles to realize anti-biased social justice and accept multiculturalism.
- Develop problem-solving skills necessary for living in the 21st century and have creative expertise to communicate with the world.
- Educate teachers who have a love of children and humanity and have healthy values and personalities so that we can realize a citizenship of love, consideration and solidarity.

Certificates
Psychology major
The psychology majors track is designed to prepare for the clinical psychology level 2 certificate (National certificate: Human Resources Development Service of Korea) immediately after graduation. At the same time, it is designed to prepare for the mental health clinical psychology level 2 certificate (National certificate: Ministry of Health and Welfare) after completing one year of training after graduation through a comprehensive curriculum.
Chid care major
Currently, child care teacher qualifications are stringent, so students can acquire a second-level child care teacher certificate (National certificate: Ministry of Health and Welfare) when they graduate after acquiring 51 or more credits required for qualification as a childcare teacher. This is an essential national certificate for employment in all day care centers.
Career Opportunities
Psychology major
Those who acquire the clinical psychology level 2 and have obtained the qualification for clinical pathology after receiving the appropriate period training can work as clinical psychologists in psychiatric hospitals, private counseling centers, other consultation institutions (social welfare institutions, lifelong education institutes, etc.) regardless of graduate school program.
In addition, they can serve as a public officials or a semi-officials in a national counseling agency, military, Military Manpower Administration, prison, or other areas where various counselors are needed. In addition, they can engage in consultation work in various forms in the human resource department or the family support department of an advertisement company or a general company.
Chid care major
Those who have acquired the child care level 2 certificate are can have stability with semi-official status in various forms of child care facilities ranging from public and private kindergartens, workplace child care, home day care, cooperative nursery day care as well as any type of alternative child care that’s emerging recently. That is, as a child care teacher, your professionalism is guaranteed. In addition, those who have completed the designated courses in the rehabilitation department can acquire the qualification of a special child care teacher who specializes in children with disabilities. In this way, you can be an integrated childcare teacher who also serves as a therapist in an integrated daycare center for the disabled. In today's transition to a multicultural society, students can work for a child rights-related enterprise as well. They can establish themselves as a child specialist in multicultural and international child organizations such as UNICEF and World Vision. In this case, foreign language competency should be supplemented. In addition, there are other job opportunities available in research institutes for young children in both the public and private sectors, toy manufacturers, education broadcasting companies, and companies related to young children.
