Introduction
Our Department of English Language and Literature is a place to learn the humanities, English linguistics and English and American literature necessary for the global era, and to cultivate humanity’s spirit and the creative cultural ability of the citizens of the world. Practical English in speaking, listening, reading, and writing is a basic education in our department. English linguistics is a discipline that explores the history and structural characteristics of English and deepens understanding of English and enhances understanding of human beings as linguistic beings. English literature explores English and American literatures which have played a major role in world cultural history and multi-layered cultures of English speaking countries. Learning English linguistics and literature is a process of building a humanistic ability to understand and analyze all the phenomena of the global world by building a high level of language ability. Our department is dedicated to nurturing global talents with top-notch professors who are familiar with practical English education, English linguistics and literature.
