Those who meet either A or B:A. Those who are born outside Korea, whose parents are both foreigners, and who graduated (about to graduate) high school in Korea or abroad B. Additional educational qualification for transfer |
Those who meet one of the following requirements as foreigners who satisfy the requirements as new students:A. Those who graduated or are going to graduate from a four-year university B. Those who finished two-years of enrollment in a four-year university.(Third-year transfer qualification) C. Those who finished 1-year of enrollment in a four-year university.(Second-year transfer qualification) D. Those who graduated or are scheduled to graduate from two-year colleges |
Notes on qualification
- Nationality is based on the date of application
- Dual citizenship holders are not considered foreigners.
- If the applicants or their parents give up(lose) Korean nationality, the documentation proving this must be submitted.
(The document must state the loss of nationality: certificate of family relationship, proof of dismissal, proof of loss of nationality, etc.)
- Those who have dual citizenship or statelessness are not considered foreigners.

- Applicants who are no longer Korean by legally abandoning their Korean citizenship during the high school years are not eligible for admission
- Korean institutes for language courses are not counted as foreign schools.
- For foreigners who have completed overall education courses in abroad, those who spent less than 12 years in education due to the differences in academic requirements are admitted as equivalent to those who studied 12 years in full.
- As a foreign student who has completed 12 years of elementary, middle, and high school education in two or more countries, if the total period of study is inadequate within one semester (six months) due to the difference of study between the countries in the process of transferring to a school in a third country, it may be acceptable as a special exception.
Language proficiency qualification (New/transfer admission)
Those who meet one or more of the following language qualifications
- Those acquired TOPIK level 3 or higher.
- Those who have completed Level 3 or above Korean language education program at a university.
Post-enrollment obligation
If you are admitted without receiving the TOPIK level 4 or above, you must obtain a TOPIK level 3 or higher within 6 months of your admission. And you must acquire the TOPIK level 4 or higher before graduation.
